Former Bukidnon Representative and now Liberal Party senatorial candidate 'Teacher' Neric Acosta condemns the harassment of local Liberal Party officials by the administration and the Commission on Elections. Governor Grade Padaca of Isabela was recently removed from office. Governor Jonjon Mendoza of Bulacan, who confirmed the PhP 500,000 bribe offer of Malacanang and recently joined the Party, has also been ousted. It is rumored that Governor Ed Panlilio of Pampanga will soon be unseated.
Acosta says that the government is using its powers as a backhoe to bury the sovereign will of the people of Bulacan, Isabela, Pampanga and elsewhere to protect its allies and ensure control of the elections in 2010. Now, more than ever, with martial law, our people must exercise fullest vigilance to protect their democracy.
