Liberal Party Senatorial candidate and Vice President for Mindanao ‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta joins Senators Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas and fellow candidates TG Guingona and Yasmin Busran-Lao at the proclamation of Liberal Party Senatorial candidates for Mindanao today.
‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta, a proud Mindanaoan, environmental advocate and former three-term Bukidnon representative has been principal author of major environmental legislation, including Republic Act No. 8978, which established Mt. Kitanglad range as a protected area. He has also led microenterprise and development projects in Bukidnon through the establishment of BINHI (Bukidnon Integrted Network of Home Industries). He remains committed to pushing for educational and environmental legislation and projects for Mindanao and firmly believes that they are appropriate tools for development and peace building.
‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta’s strategy for Mindanao involves 3Ds—disarming private armies, conducting dialogue as part of the peace process with the MILF and NDF and implementing programs for long-term, socio-economic and sustainable development. “Where Mindanao goes, the whole country follows.”
