"Manny Villar claims that he'll end poverty in our country. Apparently, his idea of doing this is by paying everyone off--including his opponents."
This is the response of Liberal Party Senatorial candidate 'Teacher' Neric Acosta to recent news that Villar allegedly offered to pay Gordon and Erap to withdraw from the Presidential race.
"Hindi ako magugulat kung talagang nangyari ang kabalbalan na ito," says Acosta. "It's not beneath Villar to be this conniving considering all the other things he's done to attempt to turn a basic democratic exercise to a petty game for personal rewards."
‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta adds that "as Filipinos, we must feel insulted that someone who claims that he can lead our country thinks that we are a nation of sellouts and do not have the integrity to protect the democracy that so many of our countrymen have fought to restore."
