‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta on why Arroyo doesn't threaten Villar

Reacting to Sen. Manny Villar’s recent statement that he would not feel threatened if President Arroyo becomes Speaker of the House, Liberal Party Senatorial candidate ‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta says that this further proves that Villar is, indeed, an administration candidate.

“Hindi takot si Villar. Ito ay dahil malakas ang loob niya na aalagaan siya ni Gng. Arroyo kung sakaling maging Speaker of the House ito.”

‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta adds that “we have seen that even the COMELEC, acting as a pawn of the Arroyo administration, has been favoring Villar not only by harassing Liberal Party officials—including Grace Padaca, Among Ed Panlilio and Jonjon Mendoza—but by also configuring the ballots to work in his favor.”

The COMELEC has allowed the candidacy of Vetallano Acosta, who has not made any effort to campaign and has been dropped by his own running mate, even if he is clearly a nuisance candidate.

“This has been done to prevent Noynoy Aquino from being the first name under the Presidential list. We also have reason to suspect that Villar had a hand in the format of the ballots since his name receives its own column.”

‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta reminds the Comelec that it is a non-partisan and neutral entity that must disregard the biases of the current administration in order to prioritize free and fair elections. He calls on the Filipino people to make informed decisions for the upcoming elections and to serve as watchdogs for democracy.
