Reaction of 'Teacher' Neric Acosta on Presidential Forum

E-mail Print PDF

Press Release | January 10, 2010

Liberal Party Senatorial candidate Teacher Neric Acosta lauds LP standard bearer Sen. Noynoy Aquino for his strong performance at Saturday's presidential forum but points out that there was a deliberate attempt from Aquino's opponents to target and taunt him primarily because of his stellar lead in recent surveys and the fact that Aquino's campaign has been a well-received, people-driven initiative.

Aquino's platform centers on transformative leadership and is a social contract with the Filipino people.  It also addresses important national issues, including but not limited to, good governance, job creation and access to education and health care services.

"Aquino has clearly proven that he is a formidable candidate not only because of his growing number of supporters but also because of his strong track record and performance in both Senate and as a Congressman," according to Acosta. Moreover, Acosta is confident that "Aquino remains the most trusted by the Filipino people for his proven exemplary embodiment of good governance and not being identified as a corrupt 'traditional politician'."

'Teacher' Neric Acosta asserts that Aquino's opponents should shift their strategies away from malicious targeted attacks against Aquino--both personally and on his competence--as majority of the Filipino people agree that he is most deserving of being President and will consistently defend him, his credibility and his abilities.
