Press Release | January 10, 2010

In order to learn more about the issues facing the youth around the country, Liberal Party Senatorial candidate and educator by profession ‘Teacher’ Neric Acosta visited the Bicol region over the weekend to meet with youth organizations, marginalized/special interest groups and local leaders.

Acosta visited Daet, Camarines Norte; Metro Naga and Legazpi City.

Upon his arrival in the region, Acosta was welcomed by fellow Kaya Natin champion and Liberal Party member Naga Mayor Jesse Robredo. Other leaders he met with include Daet Mayor Tito Sarion, Congresswoman Liway Vinzons-Chato, Legazpi Councilor Lorna Cristobal and Governor Joey Salceda.

Acosta attended an oath taking of newly elected youth leaders from Region V tertiary schools and an awarding ceremony of the College Educators Guild of the Philippines. In Naga, Acosta also held meetings with the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Naga City People’s Council, Barangay People’s Council Congress, Change Politics Movement—Bicol Chapter and youth organizations.

Acosta also took the opportunity to join relief operations of the PiNoy Power-Albay chapter at the Taisan relocation site in Legazpi. As his trip coincided with the Feast of the Black Nazarene, Acosta attended a mass in its honor.

‘Teacher’ Neric is grateful for the overwhelming support shown to the Liberal Party by the people of Bicol.
