Anger as defense mechanism
“Instead of being ‘furious’ as reports say, over the Liberal Party’s statements that Manny Villar is teaming up with Ms. Arroyo, I think Mr. Villar should step up to the challenge and prove us wrong once and for all. Acosta strongly believes that Villar has a lot to hide, instead of tackling the accusations head-on, Villar simply denies the accusations. “We know that denials have never been good explanations for issues hounding a person.”
Proof of malice
“Now, Villar has the gall to say that the Liberal Party is behind these reports linking his candidacy to the present administration. The Liberal Party of the Philippines does not need to resort to such means in order to strengthen our campaign, because from the onset, our campaign has always been a people-powered driven campaign.” Acosta defends the Liberal Party from Villar’s vicious statements that the party is the one behind the alleged ‘demolition job’.
Interestingly, it was an unnamed Lakas senatorial candidate who was quoted by the Inquirer and elaborated on the on going talks between Villar and Arroyo’s camp. Acosta said.
Principled leadership
“Villar is a master of deception. Villar’s teaming up with the present administration perpetuates a cycle of apathy and greed. Tama na sa ganitong uri ng mga tao na lalo lang magpapahirap sa ating bansa.” Acosta lament the fact that our country lacks true political leaders.
“If we want change to begin in our country, we must be careful in choosing leaders this coming May election.” Acosta ends.
